For the 2009 Open House Alan has focused on his passion for oils and is exhibiting a dramatic collection of large scale canvases.

Alan moved to Brighton in 1986 where he served an apprenticeship in stained glass; there are many examples of his work in doors and windows throughout Brighton & Hove.

Alan also served an apprenticeship in carpentry and has over 15 years experience in this field and is now an established and respected craftsman creating bespoke commissions include mirror frames, furniture and beds (one of which is exhibited this year). Previous exhibits in the Open House festival have included an eclectic media mix including glass wax sculpture, gold leafing and Oils.
